On February 5, 2013, the Prime Minister signed Decision No. 298/QD-TTg approving the Construction Planning of Mang Den Ecotourism Area and the General Planning of Kon Plong Urban Area, Kon Plong District to 2030. In the year of implementation, Mang Den National Ecotourism Area, Kon Plong district (Kon Tum) has prospered day by day, meeting the tourism and relaxation needs of domestic and foreign tourists.

The report of Kon Plong District People’s Committee shows that the number of tourists coming to Mang Den has continuously increased over the years. If in 2013 the whole district attracted 65,000 visitors, by 2019 the total number of tourists reached 249,300 visitors (including 6,600 international visitors). From the beginning of 2020 until now, the total number of tourists has reached 115 thousand, with more than 3,050 international visitors.

Propagate awareness of environmental protection responsibility to tourists

Mr. Pham Van Thang, Vice Chairman of Kon Plong District People’s Committee, said that the entire district currently has 15 tourist activity sites, including many attractive tourist destinations such as: Pa Sy Waterfall Ecotourism Area, Dak Ke Lake, Dam Bri lake, E Ban Farm, Thien My Farm, Mang Den high-tech agricultural area, Mang Den youth cold country flower and vegetable cooperative, Bell tower commemorating heroic martyrs, Khanh Lam pagoda, house worship Our Lady of Mang Den… Along with familiar types of products, the district also focuses on developing and diversifying other types of tourism such as eco-tourism, community tourism; Cultural and spiritual tourism. Along with promotional activities and promoting the development of various types of tourism, the district pays special attention to environmental protection in tourism development. Specifically, the district has issued a decision on implementing the Code of Conduct in tourism activities in the Mang Den Ecotourism Area. In addition, in 2017 the district issued a plan to build the “Green – Clean – Beautiful – Civilized” model in developing Mang Den ecotourism.

Kon Plong tourism is getting better and better
