According to a survey by VnExpress, the number of rooms on April 27-29 in Binh Thuan’s tourist hotspots such as Phan Thiet, Mui Ne, Ham Tien is small, and Phu Quy is fully booked. Mr. Bui The Nhan, Director of Binh Thuan Provincial Department of Tourism, said the number of stays is estimated to increase by about 25% compared to 2023. The number of tourists at tourist destinations in Khanh Hoa is expected to increase. Ms. Nguyen Thi Le Thanh, Director of the Department of Tourism of Khanh Hoa province, said that hotels over 3 stars in the province are 90% full. Cam Lam – Vinh Hao Expressway opened on April 26, shortening the time from Saigon to Nha Trang from 8 hours to 5 hours, and road passengers are likely to increase at the last minute. Ms. Thanh said that the province has been preparing to welcome guests for the holiday since early April, focusing on many areas, most importantly food hygiene and safety, environmental landscape, price listing, and human resources. It is expected that Nha Trang will have a surprise inspection of accommodation establishments to check the business situation during the holidays.

A representative of the travel company Viet Tourism said that during this year’s holidays, road tours traveling by car to southern coastal tourist destinations increased.

The number of bookings also increased in Da Nang, in the period April 26-28, beachfront hotels reached 90%, many hotels announced room closures. Hotels in the city have reached 70% occupancy. Resort area capacity reaches 50 – 60%. On major holidays, room capacity is 10 – 20% lower.

Contrary to destinations that are convenient for road travel, Quy Nhon, Phu Quoc, and Con Dao are still waiting for visitors. Ms. Dinh Thi Thu Thao, Commercial Director of Mustgo, said that due to the impact of air tickets, domestic tourists – the main source of visitors to Quy Nhon decreased, leading to low room capacity. The 3-star segment with a small number of rooms reaches about 50%, the 4.5-star segment reaches about 30%.

Phu Quoc, holiday room occupancy is average. Resorts with a large number of rooms such as Wyndham Grand Phu Quoc (1,399 rooms) currently have a capacity of 15-20%. Cool climate destinations such as Da Lat and Mang Den are also forecast to have a fire. Mang Den town currently has 1,200 rooms, accommodation locations are currently at 90-100% capacity.

Mustgo data shows that 3-4 star hotels in Da Lat have a higher number of bookings than high-end 5-star hotels and guests also mainly stay on April 27-29. Mr. Nguyen Nhat Vu, Deputy General Director of Dalattourist, said that most accommodations in Da Lat, from homestays to high-end hotels, are fully booked, but there is usually no surcharge on holidays due to compliance with the contract from the beginning of the year. Days after April 30 are allowed to charge a surcharge but there are no customers. “The reason is partly due to the 5-day holiday closing late,” Mr. Vu said.

With the increase in bookings, Dalattourist forecasts that the number of corporate visitors to Da Lat will increase by 10% compared to last year, reaching 41,800, equal to 80% compared to 2019. The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lam Dong province forecasts about 200,000 visitors will come to Da Lat during the holiday season.
