Dak Bla River is a unique river because it flows in the opposite direction East – West, different from other rivers in Vietnam.

In the dry season, the river is drier than usual, revealing a large, clean, beautiful sandbank like a beach, so people in the Northern Central Highlands city call it “Kon Tum beach”.

As dusk gradually falls, a large number of Kon Tum people take their children and go to this “beach” to stroll and check-in.

Mr. Pham Hoai Nam – one of the people who often walks here – said that in the past this sandy beach was very wild, people often brought their children to play.

In the past two years, more people have come, many groups of young people have set up tents to enjoy the wind, take photos… making this sandy scene even more like a beach.

“Kon Tum Beach” brings unexpected excitement to adults and is a new “playground” for children.

Under the sunset, light golden rays of sunlight shine down on the white sand beach at the foot of Dak Bla bridge, creating a romantic scene for young couples sitting on the sand to chat, confide, and take pictures of each other.

Grasping the needs of tourists and local people, a number of water shops appear in this romantic space. There is a cafe with strings of lights, shimmeringly illuminating a corner of Dak Bla bridge as the sky gets darker.

“Like the beaches in Da Nang, there are cafes, music, colored lights… it looks great. The only difference is that one side is a real sea and the other is a freshwater river. I didn’t think there was such a beautiful place in Kon Tum”, Ngo Thi Hai Yen – a student in Da Nang who recently returned to her hometown – shared.

Mr. Dang Minh Bien – Chairman of the People’s Committee of Le Loi Ward, Kon Tum City – said that two households have registered procedures to apply for a license to operate entertainment services on the sandy beach under Dak Bla Bridge, Kon Tum City People’s Committee. also approved.

“Currently in the dry season, the epidemic situation is stable, these two households reported to the ward to continue providing entertainment services, but to do larger-scale services, we must consider. The Ward People’s Committee also always supports this cool spot in terms of security and order,” Mr. Bien said.
