Ngoc Linh Ginseng Museum in Saigon

The museum is about 250 m2 wide, right at the entrance are articles, pictures, and distribution diagrams of Ngoc Linh ginseng. This species is mainly found in the Ngoc Linh mountain region (Kon Tum and Quang Nam), at altitudes from 1,200 to 2,000 m.

Ngoc Linh ginseng is a precious type of ginseng endemic to Vietnam, discovered by pharmacist Dao Kim Long in 1973 on Ngoc Linh mountain. It is among the four precious ginseng species in the world (Ngoc Linh ginseng, Korean ginseng, American ginseng, Chinese ginseng) because it is in the high-value dammaran frame saponin structure group. In particular, the amount of saponin in ginseng is high, with 52 compounds located in the lower stem, roots, and tubers (Korean ginseng has less than 40 compounds).
