Narrowing the planning of Mang Den tourist area

Kon TumPlanned to 2045, the Mang Den tourist area, Kon Plong district, will be narrowed from 138,000 hectares to more than 90,000 hectares.

This is the content of the decision on the general planning task to build Mang Den tourist area by 2045, which has just been approved by Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha.

The research area for planning Mang Den tourist area is carried out on 90,000 hectares, including Mang Den town and 5 communes Mang But, Dak Tang, Mang Canh, Hieu and Po E. Of which, 19,000 hectares without natural forests are used to build houses, urban works… and about 71,000 hectares of natural forests are planned to exploit tourism activities.

The Mang Den National Ecotourism Area planning approved by the Prime Minister in 2013 is 138,000 hectares wide, including the entire area of ​​Kon Plong district.

The purpose of narrowing the scale is to focus on investing in the infrastructure of Mang Den tourist area to become a national and regional tourism, resort and cultural center, and become an attractive destination of the Central Highlands region.

Mang Den town, Kon Plong district is about 60 km from Kon Tum city center, at an altitude of more than 1,200 m, the weather is cool all year round. By the end of November 2023, there will be over 930,000 tourists coming to Mang Den, nearly double last year.

In August, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh agreed to add Mang Den airport to the airport planning as proposed by Kon Tum province. Airport investment cost is 4,000 billion VND, according to the PPP public-private partnership method. Mang Den Airport is expected to have a land area of ​​about 350 hectares, a design capacity of 3 to 5 million passengers per year, located in Mang Den town. The airport is expected to be implemented from 2023 to 2027.
