30 km north of Kon Tum city, Chu Mom Ray National Park (NP) is more than 56,000 hectares wide with high biodiversity in the system of National Parks nationwide, and is considered an ecotourism destination. potential if invested, creating suitable tourism products.

Chu Mom Ray National Park (Sa Thay district, Kon Tum) was formed from Chu Mom Ray Nature Reserve; is Vietnam’s only national park bordering neighboring countries Laos and Cambodia. Right next to Chu Mom Ray National Park is Cambodia’s Virachey National Park and Laos’ Southeast Ghong Conservation Area.

The forest area of ​​this entire area is about 700,000 hectares, forming a large transnational conservation area, of particular importance for biodiversity conservation in Indochina and Southeast Asia.

The forest flora here is very rich and diverse in species and status. According to statistical data, there are about 1,534 species here, including 113 rare species belonging to the orchid family, gymnosperms, dipterans, cycads, rosewoods, etc. The recorded fauna is 718. species, including 115 species of mammals, 275 species of birds, 41 species of reptiles, 108 species of freshwater, 179 species of insects. Among them, there are 124 rare species listed in the red list of Vietnam and the world such as: Gaur, Truong Son muntjac, elephant, black bear, fire leopard… With biodiversity and many precious genetic resources, in 2004, Chu Mom Ray National Park was recognized by the Association of Southeast Asian Nations as an ASEAN Heritage Park.

To preserve the biodiversity of the forest environment, create a sustainable ecological environment, attract tourists, create jobs for workers, and contribute to hunger eradication and poverty reduction, Chu Mom National Park Ray and the local government agreed on the viewpoint of protecting forests and ecosystems. At the same time, the Park Management Board has proactively connected with domestic travel companies, organizing famtrip groups to the Park to survey and create suitable tourism products, oriented towards the sustainability of the forest. .

According to the Management Board of Chu Mom Ray National Park, the Park has developed tour programs to Ya Ray waterfall, or to Seven-storey waterfall; Ya Boc valley; treeking at Chu Mom Ray peak… these tours include a night sleeping in the forest and a night sleeping at the Center for Rescue, Conservation and Development of Organisms, and a visit to the orchid garden.

Currently, the Park Management Board has approved the Project to build Chu Mom Ray National Park into a local eco-tourism and resort center.
