April in the Central Highlands

Every season in the Central Highlands is beautiful, but the most beautiful is probably the ‘new leaf season’ in late March and early April. Under the blue sky and white clouds, the mountains and steppes on both sides of the Ho Chi Minh road from Kon Tum to Lam Dong are glowing. The bright colors of the red soil, the leaves sprouting.

Everywhere you see wild sunflowers.

Here and there are patches of wild sunflowers and bright red rice flowers. Romantic and attractive to tourists is the old dipterocarp forest in Yook Don National Park on the banks of the Se Re Pok River. From the end of December, the leaves of the dipterocarp forest turn yellow and gently fall, until from March to early April of the following year, young buds sprout from the spindly branches. “New leaf season” in the Central Highlands is also the time when young birds leave their nests, diligently search for food, chirping and chirping among the thousands.
